PSA: That $90 moisture meter from the big box store is a total ripoff

I bought one of those digital moisture meters for checking wood before staining a deck I was building last summer. The thing kept giving me different readings every time I touched it to the same board. I spent a whole afternoon testing it against a cheap pin-style meter my neighbor had. Turns out the expensive one was off by like 15% on everything. I wasted $90 on a tool that was worse than the $15 one from the hardware aisle. Anyone else get burned by those fancy digital gadgets that just don't work right?

That whole trend of making things digital and expensive just because they can is getting out of hand. Sometimes the old school simple stuff works better and costs way less.

Heard a tech pod say we're paying for "innovation" not improvement. @quinnm77 nailed it.

Honestly, that 15% error is wild for something that costs that much.
