Tried skip trowel texture after years of using orange peel and I'm never going back

Finally had enough of fixing orange peel touch ups in my rental, so I tried skip trowel on a 12x12 bedroom last weekend. It hides drywall patches way better and took me maybe half the time once I got the mud consistency right. Has anyone else made the switch and found it works better for older walls?

I mean is a wall texture really that deep of a life lesson? It's just drywall mud not a metaphor for existence.

Yeah it's funny how the roughest finishes actually hide the most imperfections in old houses.

Ha, life's like that too. The messier parts often hide the real cracks.

Oh man, @alice_allen5 you're dead on. I've had old plaster walls where the more you try to smooth them out, the more you find yourself chasing cracks.
