Vent: Bought a $40 laser level for a backsplash and it was a total disaster

The thing kept sliding off the wall and the line was so faint I ended up eyeballing it anyway. Anyone got a better method for keeping tiles straight?

Forty bucks for a laser that just slides down the wall... that's brutal. You'd think for that price it would at least stick in place. I'd be so mad after wasting that much money.

Oh man, the "kept sliding off the wall" part is too real. I mean, you spend all that money just to have a fancy gadget act like it's on ice skates. Maybe it's just me, but I've had better luck with a long level and a piece of blue painter's tape to mark a solid line.

Yeah, that reminds me of the time I tried to hang a big mirror with those little plastic clips. One side was perfect, the other looked like a funhouse mirror. Ended up just leaning it against the wall for a year.
