A guy at the lumber yard told me my framing was overkill
Last summer I was building a shed in my backyard outside Seattle and I kept doubling up on studs and adding extra blocking. Some older dude loading up his truck looked over and said 'you building that for a bear to live in? That thing ain't a house.' He walked me through how a single 2x4 every 16 inches is plenty for a 8x12 shed if you brace the corners right. I tore out half the extra wood and saved about $80 on materials. That shed is still standing through two winters now. Has anyone else had a stranger save them time or money with a quick tip?
