Built a basic shelf 3 years ago and it's still standing straight

I put up a simple pine shelf in my garage back in 2021 using just a level and some drywall anchors from Lowes. Last week I noticed it's still perfectly level even after holding paint cans and heavy tool boxes. No fancy brackets or expensive hardware either. Has anyone else had cheap stuff outlast the expensive materials you bought later?

Man I built a birdhouse once that looked like it was designed by a kindergarten class and that thing still hangs on my fence years later, but the expensive cedar planter I bought from Home Depot fell apart in one season. My shelf game is so bad that I once nailed a board to the wall using a bent nail from a junk drawer and it held up my TV for two weeks before I got around to buying proper hardware. Meanwhile I spent 40 bucks on a "heavy duty" shelving unit from some online store and the brackets bent before I even put anything on it. There's something about cheap materials that just want to prove themselves I swear, like they know you didn't believe in them and they're out to humble you. Your garage shelf is probably going to outlive all of us at this rate.

Read somewhere that cheap stuff just tries harder. True for your birdhouse @henryt18?

Asked my buddy to fix a wobbly table once, he jammed a folded up beer coaster under one leg and that thing's been rock solid for like three years now. Meanwhile the fancy leveling feet he bought from Amazon stripped out before he even got them adjusted.
