Finally ditched my framing square for a cheap speed square on crown molding

I used to set crown molding upside down on the saw with a framing square marking every angle. Took me 45 minutes per corner and I still messed up the bevels. Last month I watched a guy at the lumber yard in Denver cut a full crown run in like 10 minutes using just a speed square and the saw's detents. That flipped my whole method overnight. Now I flip the molding the right way and set the square against the fence, reads the angle straight off the dial. Cut six pieces for my living room ceiling last Friday, zero gaps on the first try. The speed square cost me $12 and it's made my cuts way faster and cleaner. Has anyone else switched from the old framing square method on trim work, or am I late to this?
