Just realized my town's noise ordinance only gets enforced against renters, not the guy two streets over with a giant diesel truck

Last month I got a $150 fine for mowing my lawn at 8pm on a Saturday, but the neighbor in the house he owns can rev his truck at 6am and nobody says a word, so has anyone else had cops actually enforce rules on one side and ignore the other in your neighborhood?

My neighbor got a warning for having Christmas lights up past February and I'm still mad.

I just took my lights down after Easter last year and nothing happened, so honestly just ignore em.

Is it really that deep though? Like yeah it's annoying but a warning seems extreme for some lights. My neighbor had a inflatable snowman up until June one year and I just laughed about it, didn't snitch or anything. Honestly if that's what gets your neighbor's goat they probably need a hobby. I guess HoA rules are HoA rules but still feels like picking a fight for no reason.
