Neighbor's pitbull runs loose every day but my cat got a warning from animal control
So there's this guy two houses down who lets his pitbull roam the neighborhood. It's been in my yard a dozen times, chasing squirrels, digging up plants. I called animal control twice, nothing happened. Then my cat got out last Tuesday, first time ever, and a cop shows up at my door within 4 hours with a written warning about 'at large domestic animals.' The pitbull was literally standing on my porch that same afternoon. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of selective enforcement in their town?

Call animal control and tell them that the pitbull is "aggressively excavating" your yard, maybe they finally care about proper word choice lol. I swear some towns have a "cats are the only problem" policy written in invisible ink. My neighbor's labradoodle runs wild all day but my indoor-only tabby got a ticket for "suspected wildlife harassment" last year. Make sure you take videos of the loose dog every time it happens, that's the only thing that got my local people to finally do something.

Wait, your cat got a ticket for "suspected wildlife harassment"? What's next, fining squirrels for "unauthorized nut relocation"?

So are they gonna start patrolling bushes for loitering robins next? I heard somewhere that a town in California actually tried to fine people for feeding pigeons, so this isn't as crazy as it sounds. @richard_young80 your squirrel thing got a laugh out of me, but honestly with how some HOAs operate I wouldn't be surprised if they started tracking acorn theft.
