Switched from paper to tablet at work, now I'm the bad guy

I used to keep my field notes in a spiral binder. Last month, my supervisor in Nashville pushed everyone to use tablets, said it saves paper. I switched over, took me a week to get used to it. Now the office girls who still print every email get a pass. But I leave my tablet in the truck one day and suddenly I'm 'not prepared' for the morning meeting. Same rule, different enforcement depending on who you are. Anyone else seen this flip where the new tool becomes a trap for some people?

That double standard stuff kills me. The whole point was to go paperless, but now you're judged on having the right toy at the right moment while everyone else gets to mess up however they want. Sounds like your office picked a scapegoat, not a system. What happens if the tablet dies mid-meeting, do they hand you a pen and a napkin and call it a day?
