Wasted $120 on a gutter guard system that only works if you pay for their pro installation too

I bought the LeafFilter guards from Home Depot in Phoenix last month thinking I could DIY them on my ranch house but after three busted clips and reading the fine print it turns out the warranty is void unless a certified crew puts them in, has anyone else fallen for this junk?

Wait, you have to get THEIR people to install it or the warranty is gone? That's wild. I mean I get that some companies want pro install but to void the whole warranty over a clip breaking seems like a setup. So basically that $120 is just a down payment on their full service. I'd be furious if I spent that much and found out I basically bought a paperweight.

Yeah totally fair point that's exactly what got me too @emma_wells83. I used to think these gutter guards were a solid DIY thing until I looked into it deeper. Now I'm just gonna stick with the simple mesh ones from my local hardware store no warranty drama.

The mesh ones from the hardware store are definitely the way to go. I got a roll of that fine black mesh at Lowe's and just cut it to size with scissors, saved me a ton of hassle lol. No fine print worries when you do it yourself.
