Found an old drafting supply catalog from 1992 in my dad's garage
I was cleaning out some boxes and saw the price for a single sheet of vellum was $4.75. That's like ten bucks today with inflation. We just hit print now without a second thought. Anyone else have a moment like that with the old tools or prices?

Yeah, and the cost of the pens... you'd guard those things with your life.

Oh totally, my grandpa had a whole drawer of those old technical pens. I remember him showing me how to clean one with a tiny wire brush, and he'd get so mad if I left the cap off for even a minute. The ink would dry up and ruin the whole tip.

Man, I gotta disagree. That price is why the work felt different. You planned everything out on paper first because a mistake was real money down the drain. Now we just blast through twenty test prints without caring. Feels like we lost some of the craft, you know? That cost made you slow down and get it right.
