Tried laser leveling my drop ceiling grid without reading the manual first

Spent 4 hours last Saturday fighting a laser that kept blinking red, only to realize I had it set to outdoor mode through the whole install because I skipped page 2 of the instructions, anyone else ever waste a whole day on a dumb setup mistake?

Honestly I gotta ask - did you at least figure out the outdoor mode thing by the end or did you just brute force it and hope for the best? I've done similar stuff where I'm too stubborn to stop and read so I end up making shit work but it's always janky as hell. Ngl I bet that ceiling grid is sitting at like a 3 degree angle on one corner right now and you just pretend it's fine.

, and that blinking red thing is basically the laser screaming 'why are you doing this to me' while you're just staring at it like it's the one with the problem. I did the exact same thing with a chalk line laser once, left it on outdoor mode in my basement for two hours before I realized the beams were just bouncing off the moisture like a disco ball. Now I read at least the troubleshooting page before I start anything, and even then I'm usually like 'nah, I'll figure it out' and end up back at square one with a crooked line. At least your ceiling grid has character now, right? It'll give the room some 'vintage alignment' vibe or whatever.
