Update: A shop fire in Toledo showed me why we need to check our plotter cables
We had a small electrical fire start from a frayed power cord under a drafting table. It was just a plotter cable that got pinched for months. Now I check every cable in my bay on Monday mornings. Anyone else have a routine for this?

My old boss used to say a frayed cable was just looking for a reason to ruin your Tuesday. Guess he was right. Now I picture every cord under my desk slowly plotting its revenge. Makes you wonder what else in the shop is just waiting to cause a little chaos, doesn't it?
