Why does nobody talk about how much time you waste switching between paper and digital?

I spent 6 months doing all my drafting on a tablet, then switched back to paper for a house remodel in Denver. Turns out, I was re-doing half my measurements because the digital notes didn't match the paper sketches. A guy at the supply shop pointed out I was treating them like separate worlds instead of one workflow. Who else has dealt with this - do you stick with one medium or jump between them like I did?

Stick with one main system and use the other only for quick notes.

I mean, is it really that deep though? People act like using two systems will somehow ruin your life or your productivity forever. I've got like three note apps on my phone and two more on my computer and I still manage to find stuff when I need it. The whole "stick with one system" thing feels like a rule made by people who really overthink their daily to-do lists. Half the time I forget what app I even put a note in and I just search my entire phone for it anyway. It's not a relationship, it's just notes.

three apps is rookie numbers honestly @nathankim, I'm pretty sure half my phone's storage is just duplicate notes i forgot i took.
