Hot take: Hit my first 10,000 cubic yard day and barely noticed

I've been running a cutterhead on the Mississippi near Baton Rouge for about 4 years now. Last Tuesday, the gauges were humming along and the material was flowing smooth, no clogs or pump issues. When I checked the totalizer at shift end, it read 10,240 yards moved in that single 12 hour stretch. I was stunned because it felt like a normal day, nothing special. My previous best was around 8,100, so this was a big jump. The sand was just the right consistency and the current was cooperating, I guess. Has anyone else had a day where everything clicked and your numbers surprised you like that?

Man that "barely noticed" part hit home. I had a 9,800 yard day on the Illinois River last spring and I swear it felt like the easiest shift of my life till I saw the numbers. Keep an eye on the pump pressure when that happens, if everything lines up perfect you can run way harder than you realize and not feel it till the next morning.

9,800 yards on the Illinois River? That's nuts. I've ran that stretch for years and the best I ever managed was around 7,200 before my arms felt like rubber bands. The pump pressure thing is smart though, I never thought to check that when the current is cooperating. You must have been hitting every eddy perfect that day.
