Question about a new pump impeller that saved my season
I put about $450 into a new high-grade impeller for my old 8-inch cutterhead dredge after the old one kept clogging on the Willamette. The difference was night and day, no more constant shutdowns to clear river grass and small sticks. Has anyone else switched to a specific brand or style that handles debris better?

Saw a forum post praising the "Trash Hog" style.

My old dredge on the Klamath ran perfect after I switched to a vortex-style impeller.

Ever have issues with vortex impellers clogging on bigger gravel? I had a real problem with that on my setup, even though they're great for fine material. I saw @brooket43 mentioned the Trash Hog style, and that's actually what saved me from constant jams. The open design just handles mixed sizes so much better without losing suction.
