Suction line clogged mid-job on the Mississippi last week

I was working a dredge near Baton Rouge when the suction line just stopped pulling material out of nowhere. Turns out a big chunk of old rope got sucked in and wrapped around the impeller, nearly stalled the engine. Anyone else ever deal with unexpected debris jams in the middle of a shift?

Man that's rough. Had the exact same thing happen on the Ohio River last year, a big tangle of poly rope killed our suction for an hour.

Respectfully, I've never had that issue with poly rope myself, think it depends on how it's tied.
