Went past 50k hours on my cutter head without a major rebuild

Checked the log last Friday and saw 50,237 hours on my cutter head since the last full rebuild. That's way past the 40k mark I usually hear people aim for. Anyone else running older equipment longer than the manual says to?

Why do you think it held up that long? Was the workload lighter than what most guys run through theirs or did you just get lucky with the initial build quality? Ive seen some heads get babied their whole life and still need work at 30k so I'm curious what your specific situation looks like. Its rare to hear about reliable gear going that far past the recommended interval without some kind of hiccup.

Man I hear you, but honestly I think I just got lucky with the initial build quality AND kept a really consistent maintenance schedule even if I pushed the intervals a bit. My workload was actually pretty average but I never missed a fluid change and always let the engine warm up before hammering on it.

Maybe the real factor is how consistent the operating temperature was kept.
