A weird corner in a kitchen remodel ate up my whole morning

Trying to fit a sheet around a soffit with plumbing vents coming out at different angles. What should have been a quick cut and hang took me almost 4 hours of fiddling. Anyone have a good trick for measuring those oddball three-way corners?

Oh man, "three-way corners" are the worst. I've been there. What finally worked for me was making a cardboard template first. Just cut up an old box, trace the shape against the wall, and keep trimming until it fits. Then use that to trace onto your sheet. Saves a ton of headache trying to measure those crazy angles.

My buddy tried that and still messed up twice.

Did he try using a level or just eyeball it?

Have you ever spent 45 minutes cutting a piece of drywall just to watch it fit COMPLETELY wrong, then had to sit there and try to figure out if you measured wrong or the wall is just haunted? I feel your pain on that soffit. Hannah's cardboard trick is solid, but I also learned to hold the sheet up and mark the weird spots with a crayon or pencil rubbed along the edge. It leaves a line, and then you just cut kinda close to it and shave off the rest. Still took me three tries last time though.
