I wasted $300 on that fancy automatic taping tool
Bought one of those self-feeding taping tools from a big box store thinking it'd speed up my jobs. First three drywall jobs I used it on, it kept jamming up and I had to stop every few feet to unclog it. Ended up tossing it in the corner and going back to my old banjo which works fine. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific brand of those automatic tools?

Wait, did you actually try using the thing on the wall or just stare at it hoping it would work? I swear those auto tapers are built by the same people who make printers - they jam up at the worst possible moment. And @pat_roberts55 is right, for three hundred bucks you'd think they'd at least include a "cuss jar" to cover your therapy bills. I watched a buddy spend half a day fighting one of those things before he tossed it in the dumpster like a bad habit. The banjo might take ten seconds to load but at least it doesn't make you want to commit a felony in the middle of a ceiling job.

Man, sounds like that thing was designed to test your patience more than your drywall skills. I mean, for three hundred bucks you'd think it could at least jam in style instead of making you stop every few feet like a broken sprinkler. Maybe it's just me, but I'd call that a fancy paperweight with a tape dispenser attached.
