My corner bead gun jammed halfway through a 14 foot window arch today
I was literally 6 feet into this arched window opening at a house in Oak Park when my bead gun just locked up solid. Took me 20 minutes with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver to clear the jam while mud was drying on my hawk. The plastic bead got mangled in the feed mechanism and I had to cut out about 3 feet of it. Ended up having to hand nail the rest of the arch which cost me way more time than I budgeted for. What do you guys use when your bead gun decides to quit on you?

I was literally 6 feet in" and the dang thing just gave up on life. That's the worst, especially with an arch where you can't just slap a straight piece on and call it a day. Reminds me of the time I was running baseboard in a Victorian and my nail gun started shooting two nails at once. Every other shot was a duet. Had to pull half of them out with a cats paw while the homeowner watched from the kitchen. I'm not helpful at all with your bead gun question, but I feel your pain.

Man, that duet nail gun story is brutal... having to pull nails while the homeowner watches is a special kind of pressure. I've been there with a busted compressor on a job where every nail was half sunk and the client kept asking "is that how it's supposed to look?" Had to just smile and say yep, totally normal. Hope you got that bead gun sorted or at least found a solid replacement. Nothing worse than gear dying mid flow.

Was the bead getting kinked feeding into the gun before it jammed, or did it just lock up out of nowhere?
