My foreman called me out for not pre-filling my screw holes

We were on a big office build in Charlotte last week and he pointed out I was wasting time by mudding over unfilled screws. Said it takes the same amount of effort to hit em twice with mud later when they pop. Has anyone else changed their process based on a senior guy's tip like that?

Man that's exactly the kind of tip that saves you hours down the road, I still do every fastener by hand because of one old timer who yelled at me.

Honestly, @the_alex that "one old timer" thing is real, I feel like the best lessons we learn come from someone caring enough to yell. It's the same with life, the people who correct you early end up saving you years of stupid mistakes. Tbh those small habits we pick up from being yelled at once tend to stick way harder than anything we learn from a manual.

Doesn't that only really work if the person actually respects the one doing the yelling though? I've seen plenty of apprentices just shut down and tune out when someone gets in their face, even if the advice was solid. The delivery has to match the relationship or you're just creating noise instead of a lesson.
