Noticed new guys skipping corner bead fasteners and it drives me nuts

I mean, maybe it's just me but I see guys on job sites just taping corners without screwing in the bead first. I've been doing drywall since 2008 in the Denver area and those corners always crack within 6 months. Anyone else seeing this shortcut getting more common?

Actually started seeing this in 2014 not recently.

My first few years in the trade I actually thought taping alone was fine because the mud would hold it. Then I had to go back to a job in Lakewood where every corner had a hairline crack. @jenny_lee is right, I started seeing this shortcut more after 2014 too. Now I drill every bead in with screws 6 inches apart because the fasteners are what keep that metal straight and stop the tape from popping later.
