Old timer told me to use mesh tape on inside corners, I should have listened
I've been doing drywall for about 2 years and always used paper tape for inside corners because that's what the guy who trained me did. Last week a 60 year old contractor saw my work and told me to switch to mesh tape for corners because it's less likely to bubble, and he was totally right. Has anyone else had a seasoned pro give you advice that completely changed how you do a basic step?

My third drywall job I had this old plumber tell me to stop using a level and just "eye it" for pipe runs. Tried it, pipe ended up looking like a drunk snake. Had to rip it all out and apologize to the homeowner. So yeah I feel you on ignoring the old timers, sometimes they're absolutely right and sometimes they're just messing with you. At least your mesh tape tip actually worked out, lol.

Haha classic. Trust the level, not the legend.

Dude... an old timer told me to just "eye it" for pipe runs? That's insane. That's not an old timer that's a saboteur with a pipe wrench.
