The texture sprayer rental fee in my area jumped from $45 to $65 a day

I saw the new price at the big rental place on Main Street last month. It makes me think twice about taking on smaller ceiling jobs now. Has anyone found a cheaper way to handle knockdown on a single-room project?

I mean, that price jump does suck but maybe it's not the end of the world. @alice457 has a point about the hopper gun being messy, but for a single room you just deal with it. Idk, maybe it's just me but I feel like people are making a bigger deal out of this than it really is.

Ugh, tell me about it. I saw the same jump at my local spot and it stings. I ended up just buying a cheap hopper gun online for a bathroom job last week because the rental math didn't work. It was messy and slow, but for one room it saved me cash. Makes you wonder if they're just pushing the DIY crowd out.

Wait, you sprayed a bathroom with a hopper gun, @alice457?
