Drank alkaline water for a week and my pH test strip turned purple

Paid $15 for a case of that fancy alkaline stuff at Whole Foods and after 7 days my home urine test strip showed I was somehow more acidic than before. Anyone else waste money on this scam or just me?

A buddy of mine dropped a ton of cash on one of those fancy countertop ice makers last summer. Used it twice before it just sat on the counter collecting dust for six months. He finally shoved it in the back of the garage and regrets the whole thing.
