Stumbled past 300 PS2 games in my collection and suddenly felt weird about it

I hit 302 PS2 games last Tuesday after finding a copy of Silent Hill 2 at a pawn shop for $5. Part of me says that's just solid collecting, grabbing titles I loved as a kid and some hidden gems nobody talks about. But then I looked at the shelf and realized maybe I'm not playing games anymore, I'm just hoarding plastic. Is there a line where the hunt stops being fun and starts being a problem? Curious if anyone else hit a number that made them stop and think.

Maybe I'm not playing games anymore, I'm just hoarding plastic." Man, that line hit me hard because I've been there. I hit around 250 on my shelf last year and had the same exact feeling staring at it all. For me the line was when I realized I couldn't even remember what half the games were about without pulling them off the shelf and reading the back. It's a weird spot to be in, like you're proud of the collection but also know you're probably never gonna play most of them again. I sold off maybe 50 games that I knew I'd never touch and it actually felt pretty good, not gonna lie.

Hoarding plastic" - that is EXACTLY what I said to my wife last week. I had like 200 games and realized I was spending more time organizing them on shelves than actually PLAYING anything. It's CRAZY how fast it creeps up on you. One day you're buying a game you actually want, next thing you know you're grabbing clearance bin stuff you'll NEVER touch just to fill a row.

Did selling them make it easier to stop buying new ones?
