Saw a new kind of conduit setup at a tech office in Raleigh

I was doing some work at a new tech office downtown last week and they had all the data and power lines running through these clear plastic conduits. It looked cool, but I could see every single wire inside. The foreman said the client wanted it for a 'modern look' and to make changes easier. Has anyone else run into this and know if it's up to code for commercial spaces?

That clear conduit stuff is all over the new lofts in Durham too. If it passes inspection for them, it's probably fine, lol. Not sure why seeing the wires is a big deal.
