Discovered my $20 soldering iron was actually better than the $150 station I bought later
Picked up a cheap Weller pencil from a pawn shop last year for $20, just as a backup. Used it for a motherboard repair yesterday and it flowed solder smoother than my fancy Hakko station. The tip actually held temp without bouncing around. Guess sometimes the old stuff just works better. Anyone else find their junk drawer tools outperform the high end gear?

Man, cheap tools sometimes just VANISH on the fancy stuff.

Ngl I feel personally attacked by this. I bought a "budget friendly" angle grinder last month and I swear it ate half the screws from my workbench just to spite me. Must have thought they were snacks.

Found an old Craftsman drill in a box at a garage sale for $10 last summer. Thing weighs a ton and the chuck wobbles a bit but it's got more torque than my buddy's new Milwaukee. Used it to mix a bucket of joint compound and it barely grunted. @sean_barnes24 your angle grinder probably just got jealous of the screws, that's how cheap tools show love lmao.
