Had a stretch of 4 perfect service calls in a row last Thursday
I don't know what was in the air but last Thursday I hit 4 straight calls with zero headaches. First one was a simple limit switch adjustment at a 12 story office building downtown. Second was a door operator belt that only needed a small tension tweak. Third was a weird noise that turned out to be a loose guide shoe bolt. Last one was a routine PM on an old Otis that took 20 minutes. It never happens like that for me, usually I get at least one angry tenant or a broken tool. Any of you guys ever have a day where everything just clicks?

Wait, are we really calling that a perfect day? Sounds like you got lucky with some easy fixes, but those are still breakdowns. A perfect service call means nothing breaks in the first place, not that you fixed it quick.

Makes you wonder if "perfect" just means you got lucky with the easy ones that day.

@leewood makes a good point though. "Perfect" really just means you skated through without any curveballs that day... but the whole "perfect service call" thing is kind of a myth anyway. If nothing ever broke, half of us would be out of a job. Fixing something quick and clean is about as close to perfect as you're gonna get in this line of work.
