PSA: A janitor in a Miami high-rise just gave me a new view on door zone safety
He said, 'You guys always look up, but I've seen three people trip on that sill plate because they were staring at the overhead.' Now I check the floor first on every call. Anyone else have a non-mechanic point out a blind spot like that?

My old foreman always said to watch for slick spots near the door.

That story about the foreman reminds me of this one time back in 2018 when we had a new guy who didn't listen to that same advice... he came in with a big cup of coffee and hit a wet spot right by the back entrance. Landed on his side and ruined his whole day, plus the coffee went everywhere. Our safety guy ended up putting those yellow warning cones right in that exact spot every single morning after that. It's funny how the smallest things like a little bit of water can cause the biggest problems... but you never forget it once you see someone go down.
