Spent 3 hours chasing a phantom door lock fault on a 10-year-old Schindler 3300

The car kept faulting on door close, but the lock roller and cam looked fine. Turns out the lock cam bracket had worn just enough to let the whole assembly shift about 2mm on its mount, which the switch couldn't track. Has anyone else seen this kind of wear pattern on the older 3300s, or was this a one-off?

Oh man, that sounds familiar! I ended up shimming a worn bracket with a sliver of metal to get the alignment back.

Shim it like @lee18 did, that's the right move for a quick fix. Just make sure your metal shim is thick enough to take up the slack without bending. A bit of locktite on the bolt helps keep it all tight.

Shim it like @lee18 did" - honestly that's me in a nutshell too. I've done so many shadetree fixes that should've been proper repairs, my garage is basically held together with metal scraps and hope at this point. The locktite tip is gold though, learned that one the hard way when my "temporary" shim rattled loose and I had to redo the whole thing. At least when I bodged it the second time I did it with locktite, which makes it officially a professional job right? That's what I tell myself anyway.

Wait, isn't that just hiding the problem? @grant155's shim trick might work for now, but shouldn't you just replace the worn part for good?
