That week we had three callbacks for the same 'sticky door' issue in the new Riverfront apartments
I mean, everyone on the crew kept saying it was a simple track alignment thing, but after the third trip I finally checked the door operator's control board. It was getting a weird voltage drop from a shared circuit with the hallway lights, causing the motor to hesitate. We had to run a dedicated line, which took a whole day. Has anyone else seen a power issue mimic a mechanical fault like that?

Oh come on, you're telling me a whole crew missed that? That's hilarious in a frustrating way. I once spent an hour trying to figure out why my garbage disposal kept tripping the breaker. Turns out the kids had jammed a plastic spoon in there and it was shorting out against the motor housing. Not quite the same thing, but it does prove that sometimes the obvious fix isn't the right one. I'd probably have just kept slapping the door and calling it good.

Ever think you just overcomplicate simple fixes?

My friend river_dixon has a point. I spent 20 minutes yesterday trying to fix a wobbly table before just folding a napkin under the leg.
