TIL spending $80 on a laser alignment tool was totally worth it

I was dead set against buying a laser rail alignment tool for my Otis jobs, just figured I could do it by eye like always. Then last month I spent $80 on the basic CST laser kit and it saved me a re-ride on a 12-stop job that had me scratching my head for hours. Anyone else finally cave on something they thought was overkill?

Caved on a laser level for cabinet work, paid for itself on the first crooked shelf.

honestly same here. i was doing it all by feel and guesswork until i missed one adjustment on a 8 car garage job. had to tear apart two doors to fix it. bought the laser that night and never looked back.
