Why I'm skeptical about the push for all-digital elevator interfaces

Just finished a service call where a building's new touchscreen controls froze during peak hours. We had to reboot the whole system, which meant taking the elevator offline for twenty minutes. Management wasn't happy about the downtime. Are these fancy interfaces really ready for prime time?

Heard about a hotel where the digital room keys failed during a big conference. It left dozens of guests stuck in the lobby until they could reset the system. @jade_shah79, stuff like that shows why rushing digital upgrades can backfire badly.

That downtime sounds like a nightmare.

Wait, it completely froze during rush hour? That's so bad for a system that's supposed to be an upgrade. Twenty minutes to reboot is wild.

It's like they never test these things under real conditions.
