A client asked me to 'steam clean' her pores with a literal clothes steamer

She brought in a handheld garment steamer from her closet, convinced it was the same thing we use for a facial. I had to gently explain that our equipment is medical grade, calibrated for skin, and costs about $2,000 for a reason. Has anyone else had to talk a client down from a truly wild at-home idea?

Yikes, that's a new one. Honestly, the steam from a clothes steamer is way too hot and forceful for skin. It's made to blast wrinkles out of fabric, not to be gentle on a face. Tbh, even the pot of boiling water thing scares me because that steam can cause a serious burn in seconds. I'm glad you could explain the difference to her.

My cousin tried to steam her face over a pot of boiling ramen, so I get it.

Wait, didn't @wren_mitchell's cousin read that steam can burn you faster than boiling water?
