Appreciation post: a client in Denver mentioned her 'skin fasting' routine
She said she only uses water and a cloth for a week each month. Has anyone else seen clients trying this, and what's your professional take on it?

My client in Austin tried the same thing. Her barrier was already compromised, and the week of just water made her redness way worse. We had to spend months rebuilding it with a super simple cream. For most people, skipping cleanser and moisturizer for that long strips the skin. It's a trend that often backfires on anyone with dryness or sensitivity.

Sounds like a great way to turn a minor issue into a full time project... some trends really do just create more work for everyone. That poor client in Austin probably just wanted a quick fix and got the opposite.

Yeah, that's the real kicker. They go looking for a simple solution and end up with a whole new set of problems to solve. It's like trying to fix a squeaky door by rebuilding the whole house.

Wait, they just used water for a whole week? That's wild. @bailey.jennifer's client story proves how bad that can go.
