I used a bit of jojoba oil to thin out a stubborn wax pot last week.

It worked way too well and the wax got too runny, so I had to add more hard wax beads to get the right consistency back. Anyone have a better trick for when the wax gets too thick?

Yeah, warming it longer is the go-to, but what if the wax is just old and has lost its good stuff? I mean, sometimes it gets that weird thick texture no matter how long you heat it. I had a pot that got like paste and adding oil just made a mess. Maybe it's just me but I've had better luck just scooping out the top layer of thick wax and then mixing the softer stuff underneath.

Wait, so @henryt18, what if it's already been heated for ages and it's still thick like paste?

Ever try just warming the pot a little longer first?
