Remember when we used to think steamers were just for opening pores?
I had a client with really tough milia under her eyes, and I thought a quick extraction after steaming would do it. That was three appointments ago. I tried different tools, changed my pressure, even used a specific enzyme from a brand called SkinScript. Finally, after about 6 hours total of trying different things, I got them all out by using a much gentler, longer steam and a tiny lancet I barely angled. Anyone else have a stubborn skin thing that took forever to figure out?

Hang on, wait. Six hours? Like you actually sat there for six straight hours picking at milia? That's dedication bordering on obsession (respectfully). I have a similar nightmare with those tiny sebaceous filaments on my nose that took me way too long to figure out the right combo of chemical exfoliation and gentle extraction.

Steaming before extractions can actually make the skin swell and tighten pores. Makes it harder to get stuff out sometimes. Dry skin with a good slip agent works better for milia.

Totally agree about the steam thing. I've seen people press way too hard after steaming and just cause more redness. A light oil on dry skin gives you way better control for those tiny bumps.

Remember when everyone used to steam their face over a pot of boiling water? My mom did that and it always looked so painful.
