I saw a video claiming a famous actor died, but a quick check on their official Instagram showed them posting that same day.

I almost shared it with my family, but now I always look for a primary source first. Has anyone else caught themselves before spreading a hoax?

Remember when we had to wait for the evening news to find out if someone was actually dead? Now you can watch them die online, then watch them post a selfie five minutes later. The internet is a weird place.

Yeah I got burned once sharing a fake death post. Now I wait an hour and check at least two real news sites before I say anything. The extra time saves you from spreading lies.
