That $50 "fact-checking" service I tried on a viral claim about vaccines

I paid $50 to a website that promised to verify a chain message going around our town Facebook group about a supposed vaccine ban. They just copied Wikipedia and left out the key source links. Has anyone else spotted these paid verification services that are just repackaging old debunked stuff?

...and honestly the whole thing felt like they just googled it and added a logo. I got a 3 page PDF that was basically a Wikipedia article with different fonts. No sources, no original research, just "the CDC says" without linking to anything. $50 for a fancy looking report that told me less than a quick Snopes check would have.

You heard about some guy who paid for a service like that and it turned out the "fact checkers" never even checked the original study they were citing, right?

Ngl that's exactly what I'd expect from those services honestly.
