My buddy swore that fake outrage stories on cable news were all scripted and sure enough I recognized a 'spontaneous' rant from a 2018 article he wrote.

He pointed out the exact phrasing during a segment on Tuesday and when I looked it up, the anchor had basically copy-pasted his old op-ed verbatim into a supposed live reaction - has anyone else caught recycled drama like that?

Haha @charles836 beat me to it but yeah I caught the same thing last month. My buddy wrote a whole bit about "outrage over a coffee cup" that aired word for word on Fox News six weeks later.

No way, that's crazy! I mean I knew those shows were staged but actually lifting whole paragraphs from years ago is next level lazy.

Wait, has anyone actually tried to call them out on it publicly? Like, did your buddy ever get a response from the network or that specific host who stole his bit? I'm curious if they just ignore it or try to claim "parallel thinking" or whatever. Seems like they'd have to know it's happening if it's that blatant.
