Remember when a news anchor's coffee mug was a two-day story?

I saw a clip from 2015 where a guy got mad online because a reporter had a plain black mug on his desk. The whole thing was over in 48 hours. Now, that same clip would get dug up every six months as 'proof' of some grand conspiracy. People act like it's a brand new scandal each time, ignoring the date and the fact nobody cared back then. It's not even real anger, it's just content farming with old news. Does anyone else notice how often old, settled non-issues get recycled like this?

Exactly, it's like @nathan_palmer said, the machine needs feeding. But it feels like the machine is running out of fuel so it's just burning trash. They don't have enough real new stuff to be mad about, so they just reheat the same cold story from years ago and pretend it's a fresh meal. The worst part is it works every time because people don't bother to check the date. It just makes everyone tired and nothing ever gets solved.

Ever notice how this happens with old TV shows getting rebooted too? Same old thing, new coat of paint.

Gotta keep that outrage machine fed somehow.
