That 'magic' hair growth serum ad got me good for $45

I saw this ad all over my feed for a serum that promised to fill in my thin spots in a month. Bought it, used it exactly as shown, and after 6 weeks my hair looks exactly the same. The bottle was tiny and the smell was like cheap perfume. Has anyone actually had a win with one of these viral hair products, or are they all just fancy water?

These ads are cleverly designed to look like they have clinical proof, but most are just overpriced fragrances with some basic oils. I had a similar experience with a "biotin burst" spray that left my hair feeling sticky. @avery_flores is onto something with the rosemary oil, but it takes real patience and a good carrier like jojoba, and even then results are mild. Marketing is doing most of the heavy lifting on these products, not the ingredients.

My sister swore by some rosemary oil mix she saw on tiktok, but honestly her hair just looks oily now lol.

Save your cash, they're all scams.

Got burned by a similar one last year... that stuff just made my scalp itch. Rosemary oil can actually help some people, but you gotta dilute it with a carrier oil first.
