That viral $30 car dent puller kit I bought off Instragram actually bent my hood worse

After watching a 15 second video of a guy popping out a dent with a glue stick and a puller, I tried it on a small dent near my driver's side mirror and now I've got a bigger crease and a tube of melted glue stuck to my paint, so what's your go-to method for small dents that actually works?.

Funny you mention the harbor freight slide hammer kit, because I tried that too and had the exact opposite experience. Did you pre-drill the holes or just try to screw the attachment straight into the bare metal? I drilled pilot holes like some YouTube video showed, but the screws still kept stripping out and now I got a row of tiny pits in my fender that look worse than the dent itself. Makes me wonder if there's any method that doesn't either melt glue into your paint or leave little craters behind.

Honestly I did the same thing except mine was a fender and now I have a dent with glue residue that won't come off. Ngl the $15 harbor freight slide hammer kit worked way better for me, just takes a little patience with the drills.

Did you try using a little heat to soften up that glue residue? A hair dryer usually works for me, then you can roll it off with your thumb. That harbor freight kit sounds like a solid deal, I might have to grab one myself.
