TIL that 'instant' furniture assembly kit took me 4 hours and a lot of swearing
I bought this 'EZ-Build' table from a viral ad that promised a 20-minute setup, but the instructions were just pictures with no words and half the screws were the wrong size. After a trip to the hardware store and watching three different YouTube videos, I finally got it together, but my whole Saturday was gone. Has anyone else had a 'quick fix' product turn into a huge time sink?

Those "EZ" kits are the worst. Honestly, the real time sink is always the missing or wrong hardware. It's like they pack the box with whatever screws are left over from another project. You basically have to plan a hardware store run as part of the assembly now, which totally defeats the point of it being quick.

Okay but is it really that bad every time? I've put together a few of those kits and yeah sometimes the hardware is a mess, but it's usually workable. Murray.robert getting three different screws sounds like a nightmare though, that's next level. I just feel like calling it the "worst" is a bit much when you can usually make it work with what's in the box. Sure it's annoying, but a whole hardware store trip seems like bad luck more than the normal thing.

My last bookshelf kit came with three different screw types, none right.
