Warning: That 'magic' car scratch remover cream from a viral ad is just colored wax

I saw an ad for this stuff that promised to erase any scratch in 60 seconds, so I ordered a tube for $24.99. I tried it on a real key mark on my Honda's door in my driveway last Thursday. It just smeared a thick white paste that filled the scratch, but the second it rained two days later, the mark was completely back. Has anyone found a product that actually works for deeper scratches, or is a body shop the only real fix?

Ugh, that's so frustrating! Honestly, most of those fillers are just temporary color match, like a crayon for your car. If the scratch is through the clear coat, you might try a real touch up paint pen from the dealership, then carefully sand it level with super fine grit and polish. It's a weekend project but can look decent.

Temporary color match" made me rethink those fillers.

Yeah, but is a scratch on a Honda door really that big of a deal? It's a car, it's outside. It's going to get marks on it. I've got a dent from a shopping cart and a scratch from a branch. They're just proof you actually use the thing. Spending a whole weekend sanding and polishing for one little line seems like a lot of work for something only you will notice.
