Noticed more farriers rushing hoof jobs without proper checks. Feels like an ethical slip.

Actually you gotta wonder if some of these guys are rushing because they're getting paid flat rates per horse now. Heard a barn manager say they switched to that system, and suddenly every trim is twenty minutes max. Word gets around quick when a farrier starts cutting corners, ruins their own business long term.

My neighbor's horse went lame last month because the new farrier didn't balance the hooves... he just rasped the edges and left. It's scary to think that a twenty minute rush job can cause an animal pain for weeks. They're skipping the basic stuff like checking for thrush or testing the hoof wall. How do you not feel that in your hands and just... keep going. It's not just a trim, it's the whole support system for the horse.

Like that 'rasped the edges' thing, my friend's horse suffered.

Flat rates like @gracer16 said just turn a craft into a speed run.
