Picked a $12 polyester dress over a $40 cotton one from the thrift store
I needed something quick for a party last Saturday and went with the cheap polyester because it looked exactly like the viral one on Instagram. After three hours wearing it, I was sweating through the fabric and had static cling the whole night. Has anyone else noticed these trendy cuts just don't breathe at all?

I used to grab whatever was cheap without checking the tag. But after a night of sweating and static like you described, I finally get why people say to stick with natural fibers. Never making that mistake again.

and the static cling is honestly the worst part lol. i wore a similar polyester dress to a holiday party last year and by the end of the night my hair was literally sticking to the back of it. plus that sweaty feeling is just nasty, you can't even pretend you're not a mess. i feel like these fast fashion dupes look good in pics but the second you move around they're a total disaster. definitely learned my lesson about checking the fabric tag before buying.

That $12 polyester dress is a trap. I wore one to a work party and by 10pm I was peeling it off in the bathroom. @fiona_hunt71 is right about the hair thing, mine stuck to the zipper the whole ride home. Three hours in that fabric and you're basically wearing a garbage bag. Save your money for the cotton.
