That week I got burned by Shein's rayon dresses
Bought 4 dresses for a work trip to Phoenix. Total was $67. They looked fine online. First day in 105 degree heat and they literally disintegrated. The fabric just fell apart when I sat down. Had to buy emergency clothes at a Target near the hotel. Has anyone else had cheap rayon melt on them in real heat?

Man, that sucks. But honestly, cheap rayon is basically paper in hot weather. It’s like a bigger pattern where every store just slaps "dry clean only" on things and calls it a day, knowing nobody actually does that. They skip the real testing so you’re the guinea pig for 105 degrees. Reminds me of all those “stain resistant” white shirts that just trap sweat stains instead. Fast fashion companies figured out they can sell you garbage once and you’ll just buy more because it’s cheap. The Target emergency wardrobe move is a rite of passage at this point.

Ugh YES the Target emergency wardrobe thing is so real. I literally had to do that last month at a wedding in the park. I wore this "linen blend" top I got online, looked cute for like 20 minutes, then it was just a sweaty mess clinging to me. I ended up buying a basic cotton t-shirt from the Target across the street and just wore that under a blazer the rest of the night. The worst part is I still have the original top in my closet thinking maybe I'll get it tailored or something, but that's never happening. It's like we're all just learning the hard way that clothes made for fast fashion are designed to fail in one season or less.

@cameron_hernandez69 speaks the truth. Last summer I bought this cheap "linen" shirt from a store that shall not be named, wore it exactly once to a cookout, and by the time I got in the car it looked like I had been wrestling in it. I actually took it back for a refund because it was that bad. The lady at customer service just shrugged and said "yeah, that happens with that style." Classic.
